Our certification course is 25 hours of learning, inspiration, and fun, designed for anyone who loves children and yoga (no prior training experience or adult yoga certification required)! This 3-day course is an immersive experience with a heart-centered, experiential, and research-based curriculum. You’ll learn how to make yoga and mindfulness accessible, relatable and enjoyable for children of all abilities, races, genders, orientations, and backgrounds. Based on SKY Founder Nicole Koleshis’ work as a school-based Occupational Therapist, the training curriculum has a strong educational, child development, and inclusivity focus.
What trainees receive:
Knowledge, skills, confidence, and a certificate to teach yoga and mindfulness to toddlers through age 12
How to honor the traditional aspects of yoga and make the practice kid-friendly with music, games, props, books, crafts, mindfulness activities, and more
22 contact hours and 3 independent study hours for a total of 25 hours of training
Comprehensive, easy-to-navigate manual, plus fun Kids Yoga accessories
Resource packet with 75+ Kids Yoga poses, 25 partner & group poses, and 15 breathing exercises
7 ready-to-teach lesson plans and how to plan your own!
Teaching principles, including holding space, the power of language, safety, and the importance of self-care
Trauma-sensitive class management and teaching strategies
Observation of a Kids Yoga class
An introduction to Yoga in Schools, Yoga for Kids with Disabilities, Family Yoga, and the Business of Kids Yoga
Upon graduation, a certificate of completion and an invitation to join monthly virtual gatherings hosted by SKY Founder Nicole Koleshis

Happy, healthy, playful, communicative, aware, peaceful, and love-filled. This list describes families who practice yoga and mindfulness together! Whether it is an entire class or a short practice, yoga and mindfulness offers families a special bonding opportunity, a chance to slow down, appreciation of the present moment, a shift in perspective, and more often than not, sweet moments and laughter.
This workshop is for yoga teachers, mindfulness instructors, parents, caregivers, nannies, grandparents, family educators, counselors, therapists, social workers, community group facilitators, and anyone who loves yoga and mindfulness and cares about the well-being of families.

Learn how to make yoga and mindfulness accessible and FUN for children (toddlers through age 12) with disabilities. This workshop is designed for yoga teachers, parents, educators, school counselors, occupational therapists, physical therapists, social workers, caregivers, and other adults who work with children with disabilities. A basic understanding of yoga and mindfulness is recommended.

From brand new to seasoned yoga and mindfulness instructors, this course is for YOU! Working in the yoga and mindfulness industry can be challenging to navigate and filled with questions like, “Where can I teach other than yoga studios?”, “Do I need a business license?” and one of the most common, “What about taxes?”
Seattle Kids Yoga founder Nicole Koleshis has been running Kids Yoga businesses since 2007 and is excited to share her knowledge with you. From the basics of starting off on this career path to moving beyond teaching classes, there is something for everyone. The material is presented in an enjoyable, digestible, and lighthearted manner (this course will NOT be boring … or scary!) with plenty of time for individual questions and to connect with like-minded individuals.
